Dear members and friends of CLIMB,

CLIMB cordially invites you, your family, and your church members to our annual CLIMB Conference on April 11 to April 13, 2023, at the International Center of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod in St. Louis, MO.  Our conference theme is “For the Sake of the Gospel: From Others to Brothers and Sisters” based on 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 – reaching our ever-diverse Chinese community in the 21st century.   We are thankful for the support of the support from the Office of the National Mission for this year’s conference.

We are delighted to have the Rev. Derek Mathers – Mission Executive & Assistant to the Bishop of the English District to be our speaker this year, leading us to explore both the challenges and opportunities of reaching and caring for the lost in the Chinese community.

We are also thankful that the Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison, President of the LCMS, will be the preacher of the worship service and CLIMB officer installation on Wednesday, 4/12/2023 2:00 PM at the chapel of the International Center.

All congregations and missionaries are encouraged to prepare a 5-minute ministry update and share. They will be scheduled during the conference or pre-recorded (Video submission deadline: March 31)

This year is the election year. More information will be sent out in the coming weeks.

The Link to the Live-Streaming of the conference will be available upon request and will be sent 1 (one) week before the conference.

We are blessed once again by the Lord through the financial support of the LCMS Office of National Missions.  Special travel subsidies will be available for attendees, both pastoral and laity, who are fly-ins and staying at the hotel.

For those who will be coming by air

Airport: Lambert-St. Louis International Airport

ONM and CLIMB will coordinate rides from the airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to the International Center.  Please let us know as soon as you have purchased your air ticket so that he can arrange rides.

COVID-19 NOTICE: CLIMB as a hosting organization welcomes all attendees regardless of vaccination status and will abide by CDC and St. Louis’ Covid-19 health protocols.  At the time of this invitation, the state of Missouri has no mask mandate, but you are welcome to continue wearing a mask for precaution. Also, please note CLIMB will follow all safety protocols set by the International Center of LCMS on the day of the conference, such as face coverings (nose and mouth) and social distancing. Therefore, please be advised to bring personal protective equipment (PPE) as desired and in case health orders change.
